While visiting with my brother one weekend, we discussed the idea of putting a robot inside of a hamster ball. A couple of interesting problems arise since the robot is completely encased within the ball.

  1. How does the robot know where it is?
  2. How does the robot navigate its surroundings (collision detection)?
  3. How small can the robot be made?
